Blurb of volume 3

Torn by a choice between love and passion

Jack's heart has been lost ever since that terrible night. Now that I know what happened to him, I feel like I need to help him. I want to be there for him, but I know he'll never forget. Is love really going to be enough?
I miss my old life. I want to sing, I want to be somebody, and now that I'm with Jack everything has been put on hold. A curvy girl like me has no chance in the music business anyway, but when an opportunity presents itself to me, it feels like a dream.
Can I take this chance and risk losing him?

I never believed I would fall so hard for Amy, and it's turning me into a mess. She's sweet, sexy, and gets me hot and bothered in no time. I get protective of her and all I can think about is holding her close. But telling her ... that's another thing.
I think I love her, but it's terrifying, too. I know she'll want to pursue her career again soon. It's only a matter of time before I lose her again. I want her to be happy, but I think it'll kill me as well. I don't want her to leave.
Can I save our relationship before it's too late?

Check out this steamy and sexy excerpt from volume 3 below:

Kissing him has been on my mind since we came home today. Even after all that shit that happened between us, I still want to be with him. I just can’t stay away. No matter how many times I tell myself this isn’t good, I can’t stop wanting him.
Just looking at him makes me ooze with pure want.
He’s just so damn sweet and sexy. A caring man, who had to stumble his way through a rough life. A proud man, who’s afraid to admit he can’t handle his problems alone. A kind and gentle man, who stole my heart. His flaws make him perfect.
But his lips are cold, so cold they create goose bumps on my skin.
I take my mouth off his. “You’re as cold as ice.”
He bites his lip to hide a sneaky smile. “Warm me up then.”
He wraps his arms around me and pulls me closer to him, but I push away again. “You’re really cold, Jack. Jesus, this isn’t good.”
He sighs. “I don’t feel it.”
“I do. C’mon,” I say, and I pull him out of the bed. “We need to get you under the shower. Some hot water will get you up to temperature again. And why were you sleeping without a blanket anyway?”
He chuckles from my jabbering, but lets me drag him along anyway. I open the door and get him inside before closing it behind me.
“You gonna wait here ‘till I get naked or something?” he says.
“What?” I stammer.
I hadn’t really thought about it before, but now that I’m looking at him I realize he’s still dressed. Of course. To get under the water, one must get naked. Sometimes I feel like a drooling little girl. He has to take off his clothes, and I’m still here. What am I doing here?
He turns around with a smirk on his face and stays put in the middle of the bathroom, arms folded. “So, you want a peepshow or something?”
Heat rises to my head, and I know my cheeks are glowing red. “No, of course not.”
I quickly turn around and put my hand on the door handle, but then his hand suddenly presses firmly against the door. His arm is beside me and I’m staring at a bulk of muscles, so firm, I want to touch it.
I swallow.
Shit, these hormones are driving me crazy with lust.
Jack’s chest presses against my back and I can hear him inhale. He smells me, his nose close to my hair. When he exhales it sounds as though he’s relaxing, but his hand is still jammed against the door, pinning me between both.
I gasp when his finger grazes my neck and brushes aside my hair. His finger is cold and yet it heats me up to my core. When his lips make contact with my skin I gasp.
He’s so smooth and his kisses are to die for. The way he presses them softly onto my shoulder and neck makes me feel like a precious prize. As if I’m all he wants.
As much as I want him.
I let go of the door handle. His hand slips off the door and drifts to my waist. He’s taking a hold of me, and I can’t resist. I don’t even try anymore.
“Stay with me,” Jack whispers into my ear. It sends electric shocks through my spine. “I want to be close to you.”
My heartbeat rises as he works his way up my neck and nibbles my earlobe. He pushes himself against me, and his growing pants are unmistakable. Oh, yes, I can definitely feel him and his desire.
He tugs my body, and my feet move without me having any control over them. It’s as if my mind is blank and my body is running on pure lust. I’m not sure whether it’s right or wrong, especially not because of his past, but I can’t stop wanting him and more of this. His love is so affectionate, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever felt before. Tender and passionate. He provides what I’ve been missing for so long. I need him like a drug.
Hooking his fingers underneath my shirt, he pulls it over my head, and it drops to the floor. His rough fingers linger on my arms and smooth down toward my armpits. He holds me close, lets me feel his body against mine, as if he wants me to feel the closeness between us. As if he’s ready to give me more.

Here's a hot little excerpt for you:

Carefully, he started moving across the floor, his feet making the perfect slow dance steps. He was alluring to look at in his neat suit, with his hair swished back, his predatory eyes on my face. His warm hand squeezed mine as we swooshed across the floor, and he placed his other hand on my lower back.
My mind went crazy, thinking about his hands on me. I could feel every one of his fingers, and my senses were making over hours just feeling his hand move from time to time. Oh, what I’d give for him to touch my naked body again.
I swallowed. Don’t think about that Julie.
A smile crept onto his face as he watched me. My cheeks were probably glowing.
I tried to ignore his touch and focused on his eyes, but they were mesmerizing me. I looked at his thin lips, those delicious lips that I wanted to kiss, which could drive me insane.
I quickly closed my eyes and breathed in and out a couple of times. Keep it together.
He chuckled. “You seem anxious, Julie.”
“Yeah, well, I’m rather stunned that you just happened to be here where I was. How exactly did you know I was here? Have your men been spying on me?” My eyes narrowed.
Dominic frowned. “No, of course not. If I wanted to keep tabs on you, I’d hang a couple of video cameras in your room.”
My eyes widened.
He laughed. “Relax, I’m joking. I would never invade your privacy … unless you want me to.”
The wink that followed made my insides broil.
I turned my head away, trying to keep my cool. I spotted a woman in the back, walking past the entrance, gawking at us. Her silky brown hair was knotted in a bun on top of her head, and her stern oval face was plastered with make-up.
I scrunched my nose and turned my head back to Dominic again. “That woman over there is staring at us,” I whispered, and I cocked my head a little to point him in the right direction.
He glanced at her and then sent her a quick nod.
I peeked and saw she’d left again. “Who was that?”
“Sharon.”
My mouth dropped open. “That was your private detective? The woman you’ve been so secretive about?”
“Yes, and that was for your own good. She’s been keeping an eye out at the casino, in case they come here looking for answers as to why the money was fake.”
“What do you mean, for my own good? I didn’t ask to be lied to.”
“No, but I did it because I wanted to avoid you being unhappy, but I obviously failed. I never wanted this. Look at you. You’re frightened to death. I’ve been watching you from the sidelines and all I see is your fear. It tears me apart.”
I frowned and looked at the floor. He was really upfront.
Dominic sighed and bit his lip. “Sorry, that was too harsh.”
“No, it’s the truth,” I said. “Just having a hard time facing it.”
“It’s killing me to see you like this, so hurt and vulnerable.” He pulled me close to his chest. “I’d hoped being apart from me would do you good, then I’d be able to let you go so you could do what you want, but you only seem sadder.”
I nodded a bit, taking in the intoxicating smell of his aftershave. My hands were around his neck, and my fingers twirled around his soft blond hair.
“I can’t bear to see you like this, Julie.” He lifted my chin and looked at me with glazed eyes. “To see the woman I love be in so much pain is killing me. I can’t stand to stay away from you. All I want is to make you happy again, I don’t care what I have to do, but staying away from you obviously isn’t going to make that happen either.”
He was right. I was miserable just from leaving him, not to mention what happened. There was so much going on right now, and I had no one to share it with. No one to cry out with, to make me feel safe, to make me feel loved.
Without realizing it, my face had already inched closer to his.
“Don’t,” he said, his voice suddenly hoarse, as if it was already painful just to speak the words. “I can’t handle the temptation, Julie. I’m not going to force myself on you. I want this to be your own choice, and since you’ve decided to move out for the time being, I’ll respect that. I just needed to get this off my chest. Dancing with you was the opportunity I needed to do that.”
His heart beat at an incredible rate. I could feel the heat radiating through his suit. The Adam’s apple in his neck slowly moved up and down as he had difficulty swallowing. My presence made him just as nervous as I was. It felt like we were new lovers discovering each other again. At that moment I decided I wasn’t going to feel any safer being away from him, and that I’d rather feel loved than abandoned.
I raised my head and pressed my lips on top of his. He seemed caught in surprise as I left my peck. He looked confused for a moment. His mouth opened, and he glanced at my lips. That was all the time he needed to make his choice.
Dominic smothered me with his lips, devouring my mouth. He stopped dancing and closed his eyes, kissing me with fire. His hands clenched my back, his fingers digging into my skin. We were standing still in the middle of the dance floor, but it didn’t matter. I could feel how we wanted to be with each other so badly, just through this kiss. I never wanted it to end, and so I had made my decision: I wasn’t going to leave his side tonight.

Writing another book!

I have so many projects going on right now. The Enflamed Series is still boiling and burning, am working on book three right now. At the same time I'm writing a new Series under the title "doing it" with each title getting a subtitle such as "wild" and "risqué" and stuff. The first two books are finished and I'll work on part three when part three of Enflamed is done. Phew, so much to do :P
That said, I find it hard to focus on my writings. When I've been writing one novel for so long, switching to another is difficult, because I've almost 'forgotten' how the voices would sound in my head when I write about the characters, if you know what I mean.
It's just all a bit of a climb up the mountain to get a feeling for it again.

Anyway, I'm also in the process of figuring out if and when I want to write a full novel, as in, at least 60k words. I'm still doubting whether I can or cannot, but it mostly depends on the plot I'm able to think of, and up 'till now, it isn't very big. I will ponder about it more, let it simmer a bit, maybe I will find out it's easier than I thought.

I'm also wondering whether or not it's okay for an erotic writer to publish other genres as well. I write a lot of other stuff too, but I'm afraid it might feel clunky to readers if I'd ever write something that doesn't belong in the same genre as all the other books. If you guys have any ideas about this, please do share :)

How to sell more books with amazon

As romance writers, we've got it tough. Millions of other writers vying for the same bestseller spot in Amazon just so we can sell more books. I've been tinkering with my own uploads recently, always adjusting my info, categories, keywords and whatnot and I've come to the conclusion that it's hard to find the specific categories you want to enter. Some categories don't show up on Amazon KDP at all, while you can search for the category in the regular Amazon store.
For instance; New-Adult (or NA) & College books is a new vibrant category with only 1500 books or so and it's a very good opportunity for indie writers to get a hold of new readers. However, this category is not yet available in KDP.
So what have I discovered? When you type the category as 1 keyword in the keyword section, the book will also pop up in that exact category. Or in other words; you can pretty much use this a loophole to get your books into more categories.

Another thing. Some writers categorize their books in very general, non-specific things, which makes it:
a. hard to find.
b. a needle in a haystack.

Some categories are WAY too full and there are so many other categories you can find that have very little books. The less books there are, the higher your chances to be found. I know that sounds weird, because you'd think 'well, there are so many books there, it's got to be a better place to market my books'. WRONG. These categories are flooded, which makes your book disappear.

What you need is to pick a very specific genre that dives deep into sub genres. Pick something that goes down as deep as possible, but always make sure you still stick to your book's theme.

I've made a list here to show you what I mean when I say there's a lot of difference in books available between different categories:

 July 2013 list of available books in categories:

(Averages)

Romance -> contemporary              47. 000
Romance -> erotica                         21.000
Romance -> NA                                  1.389
Romance -> comedy                       5.600
Lit -> contemporary                           149.000
Erotica                                                    98.000
Romance                                               143.000
Short stories                                        36.000
Women’s fiction                              14.600

So, looking at this graph, I've placed my newest short story Doing It Wild under:
Romance --> Contemporary
Romance --> Women's fiction
Then typed in the keyword: New Adult
And BAM, my book showed up in about 5 categories.
(since the last edit, I also inserted "comedy" into the keywords, will see if it'll enter that category too).

With another book, I'm trying the same thing now, only a bit different. I put Hooked By You in the following category:
Romance --> erotica
Fiction --> erotica

Typed keywords for category loophole: Contemporary, Women's fiction, Multicutural & Interracial (since my book features a Japanese man).

I'm still checking to see if it'll work out, but I hope it does. If this is true, you can pretty much glitch the entire Amazon Categories list to fit it to your liking. Which is fantastic, to say the least. The more categories you can enter your book in, the more likely you are to get on a bestseller list, which is a sure way to boost your sales.

Anyway, that's it for today! Hope you found it useful :)
